ABSTRACT
The distance between the practice of poultry and the academic world is the determining factor of the origin of this article. Currently, the poultry is recognized as an important physical activity of Brazilian culture. Many benefits are associated with its practice, however, there is a limited amount of research on injuries to relevant modality. This paper describes the major knee injuries arising from the practice of poultry, but also report before several, some factors that promote them. The method used was the review of literature. The results suggest that the principal of knee injuries encountered in the practice of poultry are the ligament, with a predominance of "Crossing Previous ligament and the meniscus of. The main causes of injuries are: the mechanical, as the rapid shifts, the exhausting and repetitive movements and sudden changes of direction (that emphasize the action of the force of friction and therefore the force of reaction soil) and the biological as system weakened muscle, the action proprioceptiva failure and muscle flexibility limited.
